Harley Thermal has extensive experience in developing custom thermal simulation software. SolariaPCB and the MMIC Front End are examples of sophisticated preprocessors to Solaria. We have developed others for our customers that required a new material database, calculations during solving that calculated the heat created by an exothermic reaction and calculating the Degree of Cure of a moving material. So our capabilities extend beyond those found in Solaria.
If you currently spend a lot of resources manually creating thermal models of a product or a process, let us automate it for you. Models that take days to create can be built in seconds. Contact us and we can discuss your application.
An example is a tool developed for Pultrusion Dynamics. This tool generates a complete thermal model of the pultrusion process. The model includes a complex die, defined by importing a MCAD file, multiple thermostatically controlled heaters and a moving pultrusion material. The simulation accounts for the die being stationary, the pultrusion material moving within the die, the heat generated by the exothermic reaction of the material and three dimensionally calculates the degree of cure of the material. The tool is used to simulate the entire process allowing the user to modify thermostat set points and location, pultrusion material velocity, the reaction equations of the material and many more variables to maximize material throughput with a degree of cure of the end product close to 1.0.
